We're on fire

Hi guys,
We lost our Kombi in fire from the engine bay.
Although not completely burnt out the insurance company is writing it off. I need to find out the market value of it. Can someone please advise or point us in a direction of where we can find out.
It is a '76 2000ltr. Professionally convert and compliance plated by DORMOBILE, Registed to carry 4. Luggage rack, bull bar. The assessor himself said it was in good condition.
Thanks
Col & Nat

Hi Col & Nat,
Sorry to hear of your fire. When you get a few minutes free, can you let us know what caused the fire (if known)?

The link below has a graph of all Kombis for sale at this forum from March to December 2003, graphed by price against year. I believe that the majority of these resulted in sales, but it would be fair to speculate that the selling prices were less than the advertised prices in most cases. From your description (late year, Dormobile conversion, good condition) you might expect to find your Bus in the upper bands of price.

Sorry that the information is not very definitive; it's hard to get reliable information; also, whilst I have no means of proof, one suspects that prices of buses advertised here are less than those advertised in the mainstream press.

Was it caused by the small hose that causes most kombi fires?
