009 ?

Does the 009 dissy have two advance weight springs or just one?
I have 2 009 dissys here and they both only have the one spring, but the post etc is there for a spring on the second weight like the stock carbies........
So have I got two dissys both missing a spring or is the 009 only meant to have one spring????

Thanks Craig, so you mean only one of the weights has a spring and the other one has no spring?

The Genuine VW Bosch Dual centrifugal / vacuum distributor has two springs...
the early vacuum only Dizzy used one spring, so I'm assuming the 009 Centrifugal Only dizzy uses the one spring... that Is why the original DUAL Bosch dizzies are the Best... and are very expensive... even in the USA...
[for an extra spring and a diaphram?]

No, 68autoBug, it's supply and demand. Only very few original dizzy's are ever needed, whereas 009s are very popular, so they churn 'em out by the million in Mexico.

Until now. According to CIP, Bosch have decided to discontinue them...

i have what i beleive to be a 009 on my baja and am running a 30pict solex and have a huge flat spot in low revs......is this because im running a stock carbie? would dual carbs or a bigger solex fix this?

sorry to hijack but it seemed like a good thread to ask in

First of all Anthiron i would check your dwell angle as from previose experience this will create a huge flat spot if not right. There is also 3 different 009 distributers and they all have a different advance curve, and last of all running a 009 with a stock cam will also possibley create a flat spot because the distributer advances too fast at lower revs. Hope this helps any body as it can be quite frustrating tring to get rid of a FLAT spot.
