Rat German Look part II
Hey all
I thought I'd do a bit of an update from my first intro, http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=4249#pid32948
Well I got offered some 944 brakes at a very reasonable price and I just couldn't say no.
But then the wheels I'd been angling after fell through, so after much chasing I aquired myself a set of Cookies.
Unfortunately these don't work so well with the 944 brake conversion, as you can see. Later model wheels are prefered as the offset is more
favourable.

In the mean time the rear 944 brakes went on reasonably easily

So while I was desparately trying to figure out the easiest way to make the front work a freind from a scratch build/ kit car club suggested i narrow
the front arms and push the strut tops inwards a bit. So let the cutting and filing begin...

About this time I started getting desparate to finish the car to a drivable level (flag the show look, just get it going) so I could turn up to my
wedding in it. Unfortunately this didn't happen but a quick ring around and I turned up and left in an early Cabrio - wicked!!!

Anyway since then things have slowed down a bit, as I needed a break from working on the car. But it's still coming together and currently is tucked
away in the garage like so
Note the gentle crease across the front apron- leason learnt while "A" framing - doh!!!

The lower control arms all welded back together again, and reinforced.

And the front brake / suspension - platform adjustable, as with all good German Lookers
Not quite as tidy or impressive as GL1972 or Dasdubber, but we'll get there.
Cheers
Jeremy

Doing well Jeza!! Looking good, being functional is the most important thing after all...doesn't matter how good it looks if it don't work! Keep up
the good work
