Are these all that common

I can get one of these for $800.
do they always use vw parts on them?

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/pix/medium/490989.jpg

this is the hole ad on the one on the samba site.
Just wondering if they all had this type of setup.

1956 DKW hard top all original - $2750.00
This is a 1956 DKW I bought from Lodi Ca. 5 years ago it`s in the same shape as when i bought it. The car was fitted to a 62' VW pan, looks like it came that way from the Factory!I got the all the original parts. Big logo SEKURIT glass, Interior complete, Suicide doors w/ wood trim interior. Very solid. Drive train and front end is VW, Corvair engine was removed, Has VW rear seat & firewall. Gas heater under front hood with 356 headlights. No accidents pan is straight and dry. Call or email for more info.

no. according to my book they came with 2cylinder 2stroke engines and front wheel drive until 53, when they changed to 3cyl 900cc 2strokes (also front wheel drive). the company was part of the Auto Union.
