Putting 76 2ltr engine into a 71 Bay


Was wondering how hard it would be for me to swap a 2ltr and gearbox from a 76 bay into a 71??
conflict with mounting etc.. ??
Any help would be great thanx

anybody?? would the sharpbuilt engine conversion be what Im after??. I dont want directions on what to do.. just interested on how or if it can be done and a very rough idea of cost thanks fellow dubbers ;)

You wouldn't need a sharp built kit, It should go straight in, you might need to modify the tinware around the back as they are slightly different.

(I have a 73/74 gearbox in a 59)

Hi

Rather than using a Sharpbuilt fan etc, whynot fit the engine aby panels from a later bus and use all the stock fan & housing etc? You will also need to fab a centre trans mount.

im pretty sure u will have to use an 1800 flywheel to put a 2l in a 1600 box

yeah you do have to use a fly wheel that is either 210mm or 215mm (Better) as the 228mm will not fit with out grinding away most of the supporting martial, but if you are using a Type 4 Box, no worries.
