Type 3 UTE ???

Whilst looking out the window from the Customs Hotel in Hobart on Thursday afternoon the 13/5/4
I spotted a Yellow Type 3 Ute, I have never seen one before and I wondered if anyone knew of this Vehicle or was the owner etc.
Although I only saw it for a few seconds it didnt look like a back yard Job to me and I was wondering if they ever came out as Utes from the Factory?
Any Info would be appreciated.
Cheers Anthony

I myself had a T3 Ute until a thew weeks ago. They never were manufactured that way, only a thew people with enough time and the balls make such creations. The car was areal gem and really stood out in the crowd. I knew of only 3 in Aus registered, however mine was destroyed by a kid with a lighter and too much time on his hands. the other 2 are in NSW and TAS. I'm not sure of the owner but I remember seeing it a while back when I lived in tassie. Good luck with the hunt.:vader

There was one at the Jamboree at Caribbean Gardens. Light blue I think. I also saw one in a garage being built when I bought some panels once. Definitely all custom made.

t3 ute

I lived around the corner from that particular t3 for several years in Borwn street West Hobart.

It's a little peach, an early squareback converted into a neat little ute with an oval rear window.

Don't know who owns it, but if you didn't know better, you'd swear it was a factory job.

Nearly as good as the soft top conversion on my 68 notch!!

There's at least 3 of these in Melbourne. I know that one is based on an early pushbutton dash model but I don't know about the other 2.
