Type 181 Front ends !!

Ok I have the option of getting 10 sets of Type 181 Front ends.

Each Sets consists of

2 upper control arms
2 lower control arms
2 Type 181 Spindles
2 Upper German Ball Joints ( New)
2 Lower Geramn Ball joints ( New)
2 Concentic nuts

Now these are fully legal for road us in Australia and no compliancing is needed. The come ready for Drum brakes but I should be able to supply disc brake brackets to suit in the near future. Beetle discs and bearing go straight on.

Now initial costings will be $800 per set delivered to my door step so I would say $825 would see them delivered anywhere in Aust.

So who is interested at this stage ? I will say up front before I order them I would want a 50% non refundable deposit. Because I am not getting $8000 worth of thing stuff for myself ..........

Hmmmm, I am interested, but that does not mean that I am actually goign to get some at this stage. It is a lot of $$ for me even though it is cheap -in my humble op. I would have to tlalk about it with dad cos he might kick me out otherwise, but...

I am very keen, these things (ha ha) are tough right? So, conceivably, I would get this set and not need to get another in my lifetime??? How much extra lift do they actually give? I know the bjs both point in the same direction (but is it up or down?) so they don't work against each other. I also have disks so would thta be more?

I am seriously interested though. i have the money, it is just whether I want to spend it on this. Is there any urgency at the moment? Do i have few weeks etc?

Thanks for helping anyway though Brad, you certainly watch out for us huh?

they give around 3" of lift and increase front wheel track by around 30 mm total.

They are stronger than Beetel BJ stuff and your discs will fit but callipers will need a bracket which we are working on ATM

If I get 10 people I will get them if not then I won't so no real rush but my supplier is getting low so I may have to wait if I don't order soon .

Oh right, I think it would be a good investment, and as long as I say it is a unique opportunity I shouldn't have any worries. THat extra 3" would be nice!! My tyres already stick out of the gaurds at the front ( I need some rubber whatsamacallit on my gaurds) so the extra 30mm is probably neither here nor there anyway. The more I think about ti, the more I want them.

All I'm waiting on is a yes or no from Craig for his set, (and that he'll stick to the price he told me) or the enquiries I made yesterday from the overseas guys. if none of these come thru or make sens e then I'm up for a set for sure.

Secoh my price will be the same as what I quoted to you and MikeM. I will sell my set for $600 plus postage...................................but if my other set falls through then I will not be selling. Sorry if this does not help.

I would order with Brad, the new balljoints cost me $189 to bring in from the USA so $825 total is a good price.

mm interesting point. I am getting them from a reputable guy who has told me that they have all been inspected and have no issues with wear or scoring. That being said I am offering people the chance to get them at my buy price so they are wearing their own risk. Buying 2nd hand parts from the other side of the world is never easy and what people who are getting them expect is alway hard to judge.

That being said I may have a buyer who wants 10 sets on his own ....... so I may only need to deal with him. If this happens I will just bring in the 13 sets to fill the current orders Ihave. Shoudl know by end of the week ...

ok so we have

Brad : 2 sets
Mr 930 : 1 set
Jamox: 1 set
Mike M : 2 sets
Wes: 1 set ball joints
So 6 Sets confirmed for board members.

Now just to onfirm exact cost....... and keep it all out in the open. Exact Cost can not be confirmed until they land . I know exactly what they are costing me in USA Dollars and I know exactly what Shipping is going to cost me. I do not know if customs will slug me of what exactly the Aussie Dollar will be on the day I pay.

As I said in my intila post - Intial Costings are $800 and I don't expact it to change by much if at all. I have had to drop the nuts from the order as it pushed the weight over for postage. These are the same as Beetle Ball Joint nuts anyway. If this is a real issue for anyone I will try and get some in Aust for you.

I shoudl have confirmation of the order by the weekend and when I do I will contact each of you with the deposit details.

Cheers,

Thankyou Mr President.

Beauty. Will we have a week or so to pay the deposit before you order?

Just wondering what time schedules we have to be on for urgency etc.

Cheers

nope with some luck my guy will confirm the order this week and I will pay first up next week.

It is all dependant on postage ATM. I am also a little skitish on paying that much money for that many sets before I get the orders confirmed.

Anyway I will keep you all posted.
