Which is what Jak and Blue74l are running, and similar to what Steve C has/ had on the yellow bug.

I admit I made my own, mostly because I wanted to learn- but mine are untested and may need changes to the springs etc.

The V-Force ones are well road/ track tested

thanks jeza. they are the sort of thing i was looking for.

would these also allow me to run a wider wheel up front??

i am currently running a 185 tyres all round but hope to run 205 up front and 235 at back. what sort of mods would be needed to run these?

This is my competition around the household. what you guys reckon? well this aswell as a new cv8 monaro. Has bigger turbo, Front mount intercooler, rebuilt motor. I think it ran a 14.1 on 8psi. brother sometimes runs 14 psi though. (its an auto)

A lot depends on your chosen wheels offset, and what guards you choose to run. Offset is best measured by another term (often confused) called backspace. This is the distance from the mounting surface to the most inner part of the rim, ie the bit that will conflict with the suspension. For Supers I believe the limit under standard guards is 7 inches on the front, but best to check with what others have done.

It appears that your wheel width is goverened by rules in various parts of Australia- so best you check with your local people. Hot rod clubs are great source of info for this. Or kit car / scratch build car clubs.

Tyre selection I reckon then depends on your power output.
CT runs 185's and 205's on his oval and he races it with a 1916cc motor. Bugs are really light at the front so you want to get a tyre that will warm up and be suitable with very little weight on it. Tyre width and profiles also affect the way the car will handle, ie understeer / oversteer etc.

So no short answer really, just more things to think about and research, unless you just want to look good then I'd say go for 17s and phat is good.

what do you guys reckon.......i know they are 5 stud. and i would have to change to that. but they are 17x7 inch .
