need advice from the engine builders
Ok
I am starting the buying process for my next project.
I need to talk with somebody who can walk me through the requirements for a turbo 2110cc motor build.
So i need to chat with an engine builder who knows there shit when it comes to reliable big turbo motors.
So if your out there, i would love to bend your ear or if you guys know a shop in Sydney that i should go to.. i wanna hear from you.

Buy one of these new alloy cases or go oxyboxer, if you go oxyboxer use the stock crank with 94 mm barrels, this will give you 2110cc.

Generally speaking, turbo engines are less stressed, unless you are going to a balls out racing stage. Turbos create torque, so you dont need as many
revs, which in turn adds to less wear.
Bottom ends will be pretty much the same - Forged crank, H beams (budget allowing). You really need to work out what you want out of it before
choosing cam, heads, induction - there are a myriad of choices - the size of the bank balance (or credit card limit) usually directs the traffic at
the top end...
There is a lot of info on theshoptalkforums.com as far as turbo and efi goes

you're better off going to http://www.performanceforums.com for turbo
information. Shoptalk are great for VW specific stuff but the yanks still seem shy of some of the more common aspects of forced induction such as
EFI.
*edit* actually most of the turbo VW specific info I have got from Shoptalk has come from Steve anyway! so if you dont get it here you won't get it there...

9743 1247. He's built quite a few hi po engines over the years, including some turbos.
Yeah the yanks are weird, they spend 50K on a turbo car but still use a 4 barrel holley on top draw thru :repuke:repuke:repuke
Seriously, there are some guys who do know their shit on Shoptalkforums, who have EFI turbo dubs. There are quite a few europeans on that forum
too.
Performanceforums is great, cos it mainly concerns new ish cars with ppl who know their shit.

Have a quick look at the cb performance injected blow through turbo they sell as an idea or for the simple draw through see A.J simms web
site..lowbudget racing.
It all depends on budget....efi blow through if you can afford it...of carbi draw through as a cheaper option... set up right reliabilty will be
similar and the cheap one still makes crazy power.
The one thing you do not need to go silly on is heads. Valve size and port size is no where near as important with forced air induction. As long as
they flow well all is good...so there is one cost saver to go towards the efi.
Porsche 930 aparently had the same size or even slightly smaller intake valves to exhaust...40x40 or 39x40. They needed the help getting the air out
as it was being forced in...
Oh..also i do not think intercoolers work too well on draw through set ups so you are limited to the amount of boost you can run...
