M8, that depends on a zillion different things and close to every different car will show a different set of weights.
How much fuel, position of battery and fuel tanks, wheels, tyres and brakes, how much trim is in the car, fibreglass goodies....shall I go on?

Yes I think I know that :-) as I have been racing for over 10 years or more. I just wanted to know what someones beetle is as a comparison. Not anyone
in particular just an average as I have just set up my buggy for the coil overs and just put it on the scales. SInce its running a new 1916 engine I
was thinking of the power to weight differences.
If you don't want to give away secrets you can u2u .....LOL
What I have: -
Front Total weight is 400lbs with an average unspurng of 68lbs a side.
The rear total is 1060lbs and unspurng of 126lbs a side
this is with me and 40lt of fuel in it. 1460lbs that is a cool 662.25kg. Ooo my feet are itchin'

Dessertmoose,I run a sportsedan around 700 or under no heavier.I have a subie motor in the rear running 650springs rear 200 fronts was using 400rears but was wheel standing.Spacing weight around the car is the key.JVLRacing

Hey Moose,
I wasnt being smart with you dude but there are just too many variables to consider for a comparo of corner weights, even in a simple Beetle since so
many dudes have placed things differently around the cars to please themselves as far as weight balance.
The cornerweights will only really be relevant on exactly the same configuration of car and will contiunue to vary depending on the weight of the
driver and his seating position!
Corner weight differences of even just a few kilos will have significant effect on a race car, on a given track and on a given day.
Its all too hard.......I need a Bex and a good lie down now!!

Once I get my front suspension right I'll try and find a place to corner weight the car.
It will probably give a good indication of how adjusting the front ride height effects weight distribution.
Moving the battery around and perhaps adding some lead hear and there may help things.
Does anybody know if IRS rear suspension starts to toe out as it compresses?

For the swing axle susp, as the rear wheel/spring plate moves in either direction away from the parallel, toe-in is induced (the spring plate's pivot
point is the torsion bar, so as the spring plate moves up or down, the wheel actually moves forward a little bit as well).
As for IRS, it may be the same principle, just with less deviation. I'm still looking that one up.

Yes it does but not as much as swing. make sure if you change the ride height you but the car on a wheel aligner as the rear will toe out on both
compression and extension. To much toe out will put you on your roof if your not lucky, but toe in will understeer.
As for scales try a race shop like GMP racing, SpeedZone or Revolution race gear and hire them. In Perth I use Go-Gear and its $55 a day or if you use
them alot they let you take them on the weekend for the same cost.
