importing a newbie

I'm in the process of migrating to oz from scotland and plan to import my 99 2.0 left hand drive new beetle(uk spec).
The ride height has been lowered, runs 18"rims,rotor discs, stainless custom exhaust etc.. are these mods likely to cause a problem on import inspection.I realise that rules vary from state to state and i plan to live in the rockingham area of perth.
Does anyone have any knowledge of the above or know the limitations of mods that are accepted on import.
Any help would be most welcome.
cheers guys.

Dont do it ! You would be better off selling it and buy a car when you get here. Even if you manage to get it registered which would be a big hassle, the car would not be worth much. A new shape beetle you could buy for $15000, $18000. If thats what you want.

Yeah im not sure it is worth it either. I have those mods as well and they're not a prob but i dunno how the left hand drive bit is going to go here. Also i had to be careful when buying tail lights cause they have to be of certain specs. (ie. i cant remember whether uk or usa were the right ones for aussieland)
Sorry thats not much help but their may be a website to look at.
Cheers

dont do it sell it over there its not worth it .You will be in more shit than the first settlers conforming to ADR ie seat belts ,glass ,those black thing will not pass we run a diferant speed rating and compound * .and as well as these you need to put a bIG sticker on the back * warning left hand drive *

With the exchange rate you'll be better off selling in UK and buying here. You could always bring your custom exhaust / rims over with you if they mean a lot to you (just bung stock ones on to sell the car).
