Country buggy Help wanted

Well this is what Ive been up to but I`m still a few bits short.
I`m after one metal strip from the body work from in the cargo area.(short ones) Got lost at the platers!
A country buggy Jack and a engine bash plate.
And a set of early rubber mats.(beetle)
I`m also willing to pull the thing apart if I can get my hands on a ZF diff as well.:thumb

looking good

This is comming on a treat Nathan looks a lot cleaner in the paint

I hate the way that things get lost at the painters/platers its so unprofessional. Maybe things wouldn't go missing if they knew how much it would cost to replace things not to mention the time it takes in finding a replacement part also the possible stalling of a great project.

Whinge over!!

I might be able help. I'm not sure if I'm going to put mine back in or put a mat in it's place as I just brought a frige to go in the back and needs some padding. If you don't have any luck in the next week or so let me know.

Are you going to put rear seats in? Do you have the original front seats?

Do you know where I can get a new windscreen rubber? :thumb

Buggies

For $5000 I know where you can get the engine bash plate... I spoke again with the bloke in Gladstone who has the cage fitted to the running buggy, but he will in no way seperate them (3 buggies) and the going buggy is dodgy and not worth $1000. As for the strips, the going buggy had a great parcel tray but the others were not present.

But apart from that your buggy is looking great...well done.. any more photos ????

That looks great! I need ALL the strips... as suggested, I'm going to look at a 1970s Holden wagon for them - they are similar

Any luck finding the strip?

Can anyone tell me what holds tension on the clutch peddle so the cable will not come off. It must be a spring or some thing but I don't know what it was like when I removed it (9months ago!)

How come you decided to paint your buggy white! I am at the stage where I have to choose a colour. I am so use to seeing it in mainly black primer I'm thinking of flat black.

I am now covering the seats in orange vinyl with white piping, very 70's but my wife and daughter think....well :repuke

The clutch lever on later model Beetles was longer than the early ones so pushing the clutch in with Your foot is easier...
I'm not sure when they changed the arm...
the one I saw was from a super beetle gearbox...

Lee

Undercoat Grey looks better and would be cooler than flat black... also safer... I saw a ute on the highway one day last month, painted flat black and it scared the daylights out of Me as I didn't see him until He was about 50 metres away... He blended in with the black road road surface....
VERY Dangerous without headlamps on..... Lee
