Splitty tail light chrome trims

Mine came with none so I bought a pair but they seem smaller then the lens? What's going one here, did all Splitties have chrome trim or not? Its a '66

im not sure, but i have seen some that only had black rubber around them. dotnknow if this meant the trim was missing, but they seemto look like there was none to begin with.
