I agree, save them.
I just get a bit funny when people start calling alsorts of things RARE.
Would you call a beetle that has had a home made covertable top fitted rare, I dont think so, its the same with these.

daves rite...
save them for what they are, not what they mite have been.
factory/non factory...who cares...either way they'd be great to restore.
And u can use the whole - is it a factory high top at meetings....that way ppl be talking abot ur splitty and ignoring daves...at least until he posts
