wheel sizes and legalities????
hey anyone out there able to tell me the Overall diameter of a stock beetle wheel and tyre???
and what are you allowed to do do legally for tyre sizes in QLD???
i was told by a guy that does mod plates that it is 17% bigger or smaller that you are allowed to go

15x 4.5 rims but i can not remember the tire size exactly but its close to 60 or 65 series 175
|

i know that ive got 15 x5.5 rims and 205/70 tires and they stick out of the guard on both a sbug and a 70 1500

Got told that the ratio on width is 70/100. So say a 145 and a 165 would just be okay but really i'm screwed running 135's and 195's even though
the actual height is okay the rears are to wide. Don't know on size of rims i.e 16's whatever. On a Baja you'll screwd aswell i'd think. Maybe a
Baja owner can throw some light on it? Don't worry about it!

as far as i can figure i can run 235/75's allround and still be legal height wise, and in qld u arent allowed to change your wheel track by more then
an inch, so 6inch rims should still be within these limits....... but still unsure how all this tyre sizing will affect insure in the case of an
accident

Umm track has got nothing to do with height of the tyre. Its the width of the car from center of tyre to center of tyre. So 6in will go over unless
you get offset wheels then a 235/75x15 will hit the body. but you can go to 215x15 (215/80) there the same diameter but a little smaller.
