Fuel filler to fuel tank pipes

I have weeping of petrol from the flexible line that connects the fuel filler inlet to the fuel tank on a 74 beetle. As these are located under the bonnet, I get continous fuel smell through the cabin when the tank is anywhere over half full. One of the munchkins gets ill pretty quick from the fumes.

Any suggestions on how to seal the joins (an sealant I have would be soluble in fuel) or where to get new hoses?

Thanks.

Clarke Rubber has a reasonable range of automotive fuel hoses. Alternatively try industrial hoses suppliers in Brissy, they will have a huge range of hose of all sizes for all applications. Otherwise what about Mick Motors? They might have the parts you require.

Thanks PurpleT3.

Tried Mick Motors already. I'll give the hose places a go.

My 74 has a solid stell pipe with a soft pipe connections. Just try pirtek or similar places, also make sure you have 4 poper raditor hose clamps on there.

go to someone like tony powell hose supplies
http://www.tonypowell.com.au/

Buy some new hose and some good clamps. Go for T-bolt style clamps, not screw type clamps.

The hose can be expensive, and most of the time you can get away with the T-bolt clamps on your old hose.

Queensland diesel spares also carry T-bolt clamps at good prices, and hoses for that matter.

T-bolt clamps allow you to clamp the fuel hose on heaps tighter.

Also look for a leaking petrol cap. When it leaks it will drip through a hole under the filler, and back into the bonnet area where you can smell it.
