PERFECT TIMING for 73 2L auto??


just bought an auto kombi, 2L dont really know to much about setting the timing or doing any ajustments on the gearing.......seems to jolt into second on the downshift HELP ME?! peace love n brown rice.

It could be more than just timing. It may be a worn base plate in the distributor or any number of other parts are worn inside it. I mucked around with timing for quite a while until I spent bucks getting a fully rebuilt dizzy done by a dizzy specialist. He ran it on a test bench and checked the curve etc.

Run like a dream ever since. Well worth the $180.

7.5 deg BTDC with timing light at between 950 & 850 revs, no point in adjusting or querying auto shift quality until engine is running correctly,
make sure it is not idlling more than 1000 revs in park or nuetral
