Import VW's

Hi Guys

I'm after a bit of info. I'm planning to come back to OZ at the end of this year beginning of next and I'm bringing my 57 panel and oval with me. Having looked at the qld regs, they seem to be a bit vague in areas of changes needed to be made. Anyone have a few watch out area's that need to be changed for the rego?

Thanks

Jon

Bringing them from the UK, according to the handbook they aren't subject to any import tax, over 40 years old and they pass MOT's here with no problems.

it costs about $3000 au per car to ship them over and your currency is worth a lot more here?

Thanks Marcel

That's not too bad, as I'll be bringing the house contents over as well, may be able to get a shipping deal. Noticed that 82e above the avatar space, do you have one? I'd love one or even a replica! Not going to happen, but I can dream!

IN the process of building a replica I have all the running gear out of a country buggy and a 62 beetle as a base
as much as I'd love a split oval beetle to do it with I'd rather spend that sort of money elsewhere.
what part of australia are you moving to?
