Bug Tyres
I went to 2 tyre retailers in town today, pricing tyres for my 69 bug. I have standard rims, arches, etc, and the tyres are 165/15s. To my surprise,
apparently only 'one company makes this size tyre', no one else does, and they're Yokohama's, at $102 each. I don't pay that much for my
Commodore's tyres, let alone the bug!
Someone else has to make these things, any advice from the forum?
Alternatively, what's the largest size tyre I can fit on standard rims without rubbing the arch? Or is this it?
Maybe I should be buying tyres from out of town and bringing them back here, surely my info is wrong....

I got some from a good year dealer a few years back. I think from memory the were Monarch Metric's. not bad tyres. My friend has another brand called
Fedral on his 68.
