I spoke to Strathfield car radio about this 1 month ago they will supply and fit the lot for about $300. it's not that hard because they do a lot of courier vans.

For general information about central locking, you'll find a project at
http://www.aussiekombicampers.com/

As well as the normal solenoids for cventral locking which can push and pull in a straight line, Jaycar also have a "boot release" solenoid which pulls a wire when activated. Between these two generic types of solenoid, you can probably work out how to do the sliding door and back hatch; I have neither on the Doka, so I can't give you specific advice.

You should be able to do the whole kombi for less than $100 in parts.

i have all the parts, issue is that both locks are predominantly 1-piece mechanisms (ie everything is contained internally).

Baybus, you are right about the mechanisms being internal, I only got as far as doing the front doors on our Kombi for this reason.......I seriously doubt that Strathfield could do the sliding and rear door for $300 dollars. Most newish vans have the side & rear door locks the same as the front so it wouldnt be a problem.......

I've had the sliding door lock mechanism apart, and it can be done, but I doubt Strathfield would be doing it for you for that price. I suggest you pull the lock apart and have a look. I can't give all the secrets away. :P

Kolin, if i was to be lasy, could i make a modified catch off the little plastic lock switch, or would it be more worthwhile stripping it down and looking inside?
cheers

Strip it down. Just drill out the ends of the pins where they are pressed over. There is a pin inside that you can run your locking rod off, but its at a crazy angle and you'll need to be creative with the solenoid placement. You can tack-weld the ends of the pins when you've got it all together again. :)
