front gear box mount

Could a front gear box mount thats not doing its job, even though its new create a clutch shudder? The clutch tube is fine, right bend. everything else is new. When I bought the mount there were two to choose from, one with a metal collar and one without. I think, was a while ago. Anyway I think I bought the one that looked less robust. It was even causing the box to thump the bottom of the car on acceleration. And do you have to pull the box out to change it?

If the front mount is loose yes it will cause shudder. It has to be tight and not broken or split.

The engine has to come out, but you can leave the box in place but the mounts have to be undo enough so the box can be pushed to the rear of the car and the mounts replaced. If your doing the front change the bell housing mount as well while your there.

Could have slight oil contamination on clutch or a bad clutch pressure plate with colapsed "finger/s".
