How do I tell if my 1600 motor is single port or twin port

been offered some s/h heads at a reasonable price (ie less than having one spark plug heli-coiled), but I don't know what type of 1600 I have!

it's in a beetle - 69, but it's a recon 1600

cheers

terry

My other car is a scooter, and it's in even more bits than my beetle. One day they will both be back together.......

if you look at the pipe that the carb sits on (the one that splits and goes to each of the heads) if it looks like one pipe that goes into the head its a single port and if it looks like 2 pipes half molded together its a twin port :)

Hope that makes sense :)

Here is a photo of My 1600 single port engine...

The yellow inlet manifold doesn't have any joints like a twin or dual port engine... its one piece only....

I hope that helps..

Lee
