firewall insulation(engine bay beetle)


ok,so i pulled off the stainless steel louvred trim and ive pulled off the original tarboard insulation now what are my options on replacement,has to be quality,whats out there any german stuff left or is brazil ok,what about west.co.met.anygood i prefer something that is replaceable not sprayed on thanks.

i think VVDS has replacement tarboards that are replica ones... possibly West coast metric replicas?? anyway they were $150 for a set, so i thought that i might as well buy my own tarboard or similar and cut it myself :)

yeah the WCM replacement ones are not bad.

make sure all the retaining clips are in place and fix this if not

yeah must do that one day.....

i removed all the clips . trim bits n sprayed it wit Aquafleck which hides heaps of sins ( not that theres any on the smmmootthiee ) but it gives a blan overall appearance
its a little noisy but i just added more insulation on the inside of the car.

one thig it does do is stop the insulation from being sucked into the cooling fan and over heating your engine.
