different stud pattern

not sure on the offset but the stud pattern on your kombi is 5 by 112 this is vw, audi and merc not ford, although a member on here with the kombi fatso had bought the 17's on his bus from a wrecker and said he opened up the holes alittle i think he said that ford is 5 by 112.5 not sure though

Kombi is 5 on 112 & Ford is 5 on 114 so there is 1mm difference for the bolt holes. I've got Ford rims on our Baja Bus which I believe are pre-AU rims, the offset is further out than most Merc rims but wasn't a problem for me as I've cut the guards for the wider tyres anyway. I had the holes drilled out by a machine shop to fit them to our bus.

the drilling would only change the hole size the PCD would stay the same , the nut would be off set in the hole or the stud moved over in the hub .
did they just drill the hole in the rim larger ?

G'day Kombi_head,
Do a Search for "16x6.5" under Desert Bug and you'll find all the info you need.
Cheers, Ian.
