No Spark - NOW FIXED

Hello all,

I am helping a friend out by trying to get his Kombi running again.

First up the starter switch was intermittent - fixed.

Now there appears to be no spark. I have watched the dizzy spin whilst cranking and the points are arcing but when I take a lead off and ground it there is no spark.

I then took the lead out of the top of the dizzy cap and held it near ground and it didn't produce a spark - so I thought faulty coil, but still same thing with a good coil.

Obviously there is power going to coil as Cut-off solinoids working and points getting power but no spark from coil lead - and I have tried a good lead too!

So....is there something I have missed, is there something that you can see I need to try as well.

Thanks

Thanks guys,

It turned out to be a leaking Dizzy seal and failed condenser, oil had gotten into the dizzy and put a film onto the points.

Now running well :)

Thanks again.
