Nah, for the velocity stacks i am going to fab up, will just make the inlet from steel, not guna waste time and $$ with alloy for manifolds, i cant
weld alloy..... meanwhile, would you be interested in a set of stacks, once i work otu the correct length and such ill have HEAPS of tube left
over.... i thnik ill have to buy it in 3m lengths ..... but will ring around to some shops tomorrow i have the day off.....

Tube is always measured by the outside diameter, so 50mm alloy tube will be smaller on the ID than you wanted. I have plenty of 50mm tube if you want
some, it's 1.6mm wall thickness I think.

How did you anneal it ? Can you do small sections with a gas torch? Or use the wife's gas oven ? About what temperature, celcius ? Was it 6061 or
another grade ? Thanks.

youll have to ask the above ^ people what grade it is, i simply heated it untill it the flame was red when it JUST passed over the peices end, then
let it slowly cool, i wasnt surte on the grade of alloy and i didnt know it of was a heat treatable alloy so i didnt quench it incase it made it
brittle, i worked it while still warm wearin thick leather gloves......used a propane torch, but if i was to anneal with oxy acet then the process is
a little different.
Take an acetelene flame and pass it over the peice to build up a decent layer of soot, then take a normal blue flame and burn off the soot, becareful,
aluminium melts at about 1200C and the oxy burns at 800C (but that could be farenheit i cant remember) hope that helps.......
ad for the wifes oven..... im 17 .... id have to use mums, and that is more dangerous hehe
