Air cleaner assembly?

Ok, the air cleaners that I got for the dual webers have a long threaded rod, a nut, 2 lock washers, a rubber/metal concave washer and a wing nut for each side of the air cleaner (ie 2 sets for each cleaner).

Everything is pretty easy to work out where it all goes, just the nut and a lock washer. Do these go high on the threaded rod, to hold the concave washer to the underside of the air cleaner top?, if so how do I set this height - is it just trial & error until it is tight?

All help is much appreciated by this complete novice who dreams of a working dual carb engine.:thumb

nope use the nut and lock washer to lock the rod into the base of teh air cleaner. eg screw the rod in the lock it off with the nut and washer and use the concave washers ontop of the top piece under the wing nut.

I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!
