help for bettle
Hey all! great site!
I am considering buying a 1970s beetle, and I havent been able to find one with auto, problem is my mum cant drive manual so am restricted to what i
can buy. Is it possible to put an auto box into a 1970s beetle? Furthermore what boxes are good and roughly how much does it cost to get on
installed?
Thanx for your time, jungles

you and me, we're the same
My mum can't drive a manual either, and i thought i'd have to find an auto bug. There arent too many advertised for sale though. i'm gonna get my
gearbox overhauled and try convincing my mum to learn manual. there are some semi-autos around, they are clutchless manuals, which shouldnt be too
hard.

a totally auto bug does not exist from the factory the best you can do is a semi auto which is a 3 speed clutch less stick shift. you would be looking
big money for an auto plus body work to fit it and an engineers to make it legal
