are front and rear wide 5 beetle drum brake internals inter changeable?


can i use the internals (cylinders, shoes + lining + springs adjusters etc) from front drums off a bug in the rear drums? is it the same gear?

Should be!, the only difference being the handbrake lever, which clips on and off the shoes otherwise all the same......

I think the wheel cylinders are 19 mm on the front and only 17 on the rear.

For got to say that on the later wide 5 the front shoes are wider than the rears.

Make sure that the adjuster screws match the ends of the brake shoes as well. as there are curved and flat type.
