cable shifter for kombi


i am interested in making a cable shifter for a kombi, anyone made one?
or does a bettle shifter work on a kombi box? and be modified
any help will be great~!!!!

i have looked at them 1s in rails but they are pricey..... but i might be maken my own, get 1 out of a jap car and modig to fit my car

my old man recomends a morris marina or a magna mate, good luck with this. i would like to see how this turns out. ps some of the t4s have a cable shift

I've got a cable shifted mid-mount setup on the Spyder. You could use the gear selector/shifter from any cable shifted donor car (mine was Subaru) and modify the gearbox end components to the VW box. Modify some existing cables, but if you can't get any long enough then Consolidated Cables in Sydney make up new cables to any spec and are very well priced. I'll get some images during the week of my setup and post.



Spyder-WISD 07-09-05 11.6s @ 125 MPH

Speedster-WISD Nats 05 14.4s @ 89 MPH

Jet cruiser-Coogee 22-09-05 900 deg C @ 110,000 rpm
