Rare & Extinct VW Beetle tail lamps....
Here is a photo of the Very Rare & Extinct late 1960-1961 Australian Tail Lamp Assy. Amber 50% Red 50% slightly shorter than the 1962-67 Tail Lamp
assy. These tail lamps were only used in Australia & one other country,even though they were made in Germany by Hella.

i just saw these tailights on a beetle here in newcastle just the other day.
they are pretty cool looking, how rare are they?

They were on Italian VWs as well. Good lenses are hard to come by these days.

They are NOT available anywhere Sam, the Pic I took was on a Car at Valla [I think] but You just don't see them,as they would be badly crazed by
the Sun,and the whole tail lamp assy has to be replaced with the later model. The top amber section actually magnified the light ,so it was very
bright. There would have to be some NOS somewhere.... maybe in Italy...
