I wont be watching much TV. Just a bit of cricket, and of course Jerry and Ricki.
*amazer waves his arms in the air chanting "GO RICKI GO RICKI GO RICKI" *
*amazer now pumping his fist chanting "JERRY JERRY JERRY" *
Ive got lots of projects. Got a pergola that I have been building (or not building) for 12 months. Got a kombi that I've had to strip for 18
months. Thinking of making a BBQ out of it.
I've changed my mind with uni again. Gonna do a double major now so gotta do some backfilling of subjects. Will be there for another 2 years. 3
year degree will take me 5 at least.
Astro dont cry for me mate. I'm hap hap happy as can be. I was a yard hand at a hire company http://www.gohire.com.au . Servicing stuff, doing deliveries and other dogs body work. I didnt mind the work. THere was
just too much of it. Not enough days off. And not good money.
If what I heard on radio of the latest public service wage deal is true then maybe I just will be a public servant. My latest idea of a career is to
follow Bronze into teaching. I dunno though. I got no idea really other than I dont WANT to be anything.
The secret to my lifestyle is to have a wife who earns enough for both of us. (only just) I dont mind being a Mr Mom. I can handle loading the
dishwasher every now and can spend a little time under the clothesline. So long as I dont have to get out of bed early I am fine with all that.

Amazer - you want to be a nobody you'll blend in well with the department of teaching. They've already given me my number and don't
want to know my name - just like in the Army, I'm home again.
Teachings great work, hard but great if you know what to look for. I love seeing kids grow into adults whether they want to be anything or not it just
great. I'm lucky as I've been posted to a top school with lots of supportive staff members. There dosen't seem to be too much division
between the faculities because the all share the same staff house with a dining room in the middle. I was worried about the in fighting that can
sometimes go on in schools about who gets what when etc etc.
Great to see you have at least considered teaching. I've done the Mr Mom thing for the last few months and really enjoyed it. When school goes
back (28th) I'll be glad to be earning a decent wage again. It will actually work out to be the same as before I went to Uni - Go figure! Anyhow,
see you on the flip side amazer and good luck with the Pergola.

Nah. Its only 3 days now. And I have pretty much stopped doing much. Just cruising. They have given me a gentle transition to unemployment. I am
usually in the head office which is very busy. Got 1 day left there, then go to the northern office on Wednesday which is fairly slow, then thursday
at southern end, just round the corner from home, where nothing ever happens (cant see how it makes enough to pay wages) and I sit on my butt
"reading" the stash of soft porn magazines for 10 hours.
Even when I was on good BHP wages + lots of overtime there were tough times financially. It seems that way for everybody no matter how many $$$ go
into the bank each week. You learn to live within your means. And you learn fast. I resigned from BHP in 2001 and have only had a few short casual
jobs since then and been fine. And if all else fails I will just have to find wife2 to supplement wife1's income. maybe not. will get 2 sets of
nagging.
No soapies, just jerry springer, ricki lake and judge judy. "real cases, real people.... " HAHAHA I Like laughing at americans. Especially
black americans and their interpretation of English. Very cool.
So Bronze! What do I need to be a teacher. What if I wanna be a computer studies teacher? Doing the comsci now, then I spose I have to do some
teaching stuff yeah? I dont mind being a number. I was 182 for 11 years and 68424 for another 3 at BHP. Been 2084284 at uni for 3 years. I'd be
lost without a number.

Chris,
good for you! There's nothing worse than to go to a job that does not make you happier than when you left it.
All my work shifts have been usually for better opportunities to improve my career but my n-2 change was because I was self-destructing on unpaid
overtime.
Hope your new path is happier than the old!

Yeah- You can't change the world as a statistic but you can sure get around to pissing a few wanna be's off along the way and do a little
good while you at it.
Well once you've fininshed you double major just do a dip. ed. which is just another year and your set. So four years all up - It would be the
same if you set out to do a double degree. Even the min now for teaching is four years Uni study. There is only one condition - you have to like kids
- don't become a teacher because you like computers - you won't last long at all. The kids will give you 10x as much stress than any
computer will and thats just doin their marking during all those holidays your supposed to get off.
I sort of fell into teaching along the way because a few people noticed I was good with kids and suggested teaching / counselling of some kind. All I
had to do was find somthing I enjoyed teaching.
The department will treat you like a Stat but the school you end up wont. Education is going through it's ~10th year of reform and just when
it's supposed to settle down every one will be retiring. The Average age of a NSW teacher is 47. There are not enough young teachers to replace
the outgoing hence the big campaign for new teachers and police at the moment - it also has a lot to do with the election. Carr's having a hard
time getting 3000 more police when 30 a week are leaving - same with teaching. Now with the double degrees prospective teachers are finding better
paying, less stressful jobs following their alternate degree be it sciences, arts or what ever.
Here's a bit of trivia - Did you know that teachers are not classified as 'Professionals' even though they have a degree and are a
collective body of knowledge. It is because they are not required to submit to a bar exam, they have not yet been deemed accountable for failing to
educate a student (by a court) and therefore cannot be held accountable for not doing so. If they were to be a professional then they would need to
sit an enterance exam buy a compulsory body and could then be found accountable for failing to educate a student who has not passed their subject. If
this was case then class sizes would need to be much smaller and we know what that would mean to the governing purse. Also there is the fact that you
cannot force a student to learn - they of course must want to. Anyway - somthing to consider when inhot debate around the dinner table next.

mmm bronze. I like little kids. Dunno if I like teenagers though. From what I see they are all shitheads. Sorry teenage forum members. You guys are
the exception to the rule I am sure. Cos you are here wasting your life on the forum not outside the fish'n'chippy with your skateboards
terrorising pedestiains. Or riding your bike up my street swearing at the top of your lungs more often than South Park the Movie or sitting on the
kids playground equipment smoking/graffitiing.... OK I will stop now.
I have had a cool 2 days at work. See my boss is really shitty with me for leaving. SO yesterday just to spite me he pats me on the back of the head
and tells me to be a good lad and wash his car for him. Being the harworking lad that I am, I accepted the challenge and washed his car. Unfortunately
one of his windows happened to be wound down a couple of inches. Oh well. shit happens to smart arse people.
Today I got shipped off to another yard, which was very slow. We only did one hire all day so I had plenty of time. And seeing as how my boss had
decided yesterday that I was a car detailer I drove my kombi into the workshop and gave it a good wash and started polishing it. It looks so much
better! 18 months of neglect polishes off fairly easily. HellbusII is orange again.
Hopefully tomorrow will be slow again cos I only got the roof, front, driver and passenger doors done. Will even get the inside done as well. Got all
my tools and hardware in there to start on all those little jobs ive been putting off.
Hmph. I have finally found job satisfaction just as I leave. Imagine being paid to work on your own car.

Well thats it. I have retired for the 2nd time in 3 years. Now I just have to wait for the brats to go back to school and I can watch Springer.

For some reason I dont have many spider webs on the kombi. Maybe its too noisey for them. Only saw 2 spiders. One huntsman that was well n truely dead
n crispy, and some other little spider who had to get out and walk. You know I dont hurt spiders. I rarely even kick em out of the house.

Good one Chris, great to hear you're following your work instincts!
I did the same at the end of 2001, quit my ok-paying but boring computer fixing job. Since then I've only been working part time, hosting pub
karaoke and trivia gigs at night. Days have been spent rebuilding my Kombi inside and out and trying to make things work with my ex.
Well the Kombi is done and my ex is still an ex, so I'm free too. Trouble is I will have to go back to a proper job soon to make some $$$. But
it's been fun.
Will buy you a beer or three at the Bulli show.

JAY! You jinxed me with the spider in the kombi talk. When I got in
yesterday a big huntsman somehow started crawling up my arm. I totally freaked. Was shaking my arm around but the bloody thing was hanging on.
Actually bruised my hand on the side of the kombi. Well eventually it let go. Looked around and couldnt see it anywhere. Started to back out and the
stupid thing ran up my leg along the side of the seat and behind. Freaked me again. Now I dont mind if they sit on the dash or the windscreen
whatever. But even I draw the line at walking on me. Would have been good for funniest home video I think.
Oops sorry Kol. Next for HellbusII is making the boost gauge that has been sitting in the dash for 3 months actually read boost not atmospheric
pressure. At the same time hook up the regulator and wind a few more pounds into it. See how high it can go before going pop.

I suppose asking how much boost you are currently running would be a stupid question given that the boost gauge isn't hooked up...
I just put a tacho in my kombi. It was there for two weeks before I actually ran some wires to it to make it work, and the backlight in it still
isn't wired up!
