Andy - My 74 kombi has a 1800 that is only running on 3 cyinders - and today started blowing smoke!!! DOH.

I need something that I can bolt in that will get me around for a while (6 moths) before I can afford repairs or a reco.

So - let me know if you think the motor is suitable. I have a great VW mech here in Ocean Grove - so I'll show him the pic and talk to him about it in the morning.

Thanks!

Hey Surf, just wrote a massive post and its gone, so here goes again

the motor is strong, i have a 72 with a 1800, i removed the 1800 and put in the 2.0 just to try it, i drove it for 20 klms and removed it again and refitted the 1800, the kombi it was in was written off and i found flash lube in the car, the rocker covers have not been removed so i think its either reliable or the previous owners where lazy, also the car was registered, which indecates that it was a daily driver, you will fit this as is and it will start easy and will run shweet, i have a car going over to melbourne tomorrow and will be in port melbourne on sat morning for collection, if you needed it quick, just let me know before 12pm tomorrow, otherwise i will have to freight it, Andy

Nah wes, i paid a deposit and the guy who was selling it sold it under me, said he had not received the cash, he was right! he emailed me the wrong account number Goose!!, anyway i was quite happy not to buy it, as for the shed being full, i have 6 splittys (only two decent one's) the others are pritty shithouse, a notch, F-Vee, 2 bays a golf and a passat, i did have 20 cars at one point but the missus put here foot down thank god, now mooving house but keeping the shed and making way for a new bike in the new year, a blacky cbrxx..
