please need help with my bus


hi guys, (sorry bout spamming this across the forum)

ive just moved down from sydney to melbourne and have a burnt valve in my 73 - 1800 combie, and i now think a cracked cylinder head.... i desperatly need the car for work and playing music, and at the moment she "shputz" aint moving anywhere.

i need help as to where i can get a recon 1800 - 2lt engine in melbourne and someone to put it in??? i am just after something relaible on a budget (basically cheap as possible:)

engines are easy like pie to remove/install. basically anyone with a handbook and a spanner set can do it. if you dont have the time there are plenty of people on the forum im sure youll get a response.

1000 should buy you a decent engine, 1850 will buy you a brand new one.

If you can't do the work yourself, or don;t have time, check out some of the forum sponsor's for help.
I know the guy's at volkspower helped me when I was in Melb a while ago. They may even have a motor for you!

hey guys
ill check out some of the vw places around that has been recommended, thanks heaps!
unfortiantly i live in a flat (st kilda), so its basically impossible to drop the engine here.....and even if i could my cars sitting in a road around the corner, couldnt quite make it home :(

andy, have you seen the red hearing surf shop kombies they have abovet here shops?? ive seen them in tassie and nz...very cool red n white rigs!

Volks Affair in South Melb. are quite close to St Kilda. They could do the work for you and may have a spare motor.

I have seen one of these $1850.00 brand new engines,
