Is There.......

17" or 18" wheels that fit the standard SuperBug stud pattern??
Or does it require the disk/drum conversion to another pattern???

Not so easy young fella! :) A lot of mags are cast to suit a particular stud pattern size range, or a particular number of studs. It's also virtually impossible to change the offset on one-piece mag wheels, so you need to start with something suitable, which drastically narrows the choice. :)

It requires drilling the wheel hubs, to suit the wheel stud pattern.

hmmm there is another option....

hey quickbug,

i've been looking to do the same thing... and from what i can see there isn't really any sure fire EASY method of doing it...

HOWEVER: Simmons have a range of beetle (vw) studded wheels that go all the way up to 18".... u can get 17s as well... even all the way down to 15...

they come in the standard VW stud pattern and are a pretty good looking wheel...

below are the wheels you can get in 17 and 18":
http://www.simmonswheel.com.au/images/FR17lrg.jpg

http://www.simmonswheel.com.au/images/OM18lrg.jpg

please note although they show 5 stud.. the also come in 4 stud standard vw pattern. (ie: pcd 4x130)

i was quoted $696 per wheel for the first style... not including rubber fitment etc.. but they are a damn good 3 piece wheel and will not rub, it's their specialty...

hope this help,
Yianni

oh btw... the $696 wass for EACH RIM... :cussing

vw54: also told me that you can get them slightly cheaper for trade in or something from australias best tyre or something like that. it makes sense to goto a retailer rather than straight to the factory as the factory would probably charge more...

Good Luck

Then again thinking about it - 696 per rim as apposed to whole new brakes or redrilling hubs on top of the cost of a nice set of rims anyway...

Hmmmmmmmmmm doesnt seem so bad then.......
