009 Part Numbers
Does any body know the part no.s for cap, rotor, points, condensor etc for a 009 dissy. I have the Bosch and VW part no.s, but these don't seem to
relate to the no.s on the actual parts themselves in the shops. eg the numbers on the parts are a GB... number or something similar. I have looked
in the Bosch catalogue instore, but even this doesn't seem to list the numbers I have so I can relate them to the numbers on the parts.

Also I think you can run the points out of the holden XU1 torana in the 009. They are a lot stiffer and better for higher revs? (well I think that is
what I heard?)

It's a stock motor, so I don't think stiffer points are necessary. But I will keep it in mind for future developments.
Just wanna know the right part no.s so I can replace the points, cap, rotor and condensor.

Bumparoony.
Someone must know. Lots of people have a 009, how do you know which parts to buy for it.

Just walk into your local parts place and ask em to look in the catalogue for a 70 onwards beetle and you'll have the right parts!

When I enquired to Bosch Australia about this, this is the response I got.
| Quote: | The original
distributor number is 0231 137
009, sadly no longer available. The contacts are part number GB516,
condensor GB512, cap GB514 and rotor GB524. The cap is no longer available
and the rotor is due in January, whilst the other 2 are in stock
currently.
|
I was not aware that they no longer made the 009 or the caps for them. Are they still made O/S somewhere?

That's what I thought. I have asked the guy if he meant that Bosch no longer makes them at all anywhere, or if they are just temporarily out of
stock. I also asked if they make an updated alternative. Still awaiting answer so fingers crossed.
