the tf-1 super case
what do you guys think of the tf-1 as an alternative the the t4?

uses 12mm through bolts, Aluminium construction
looks to me like it might offer the benefits of cheaper t1 parts with a tougher ally case
i wonder if it could work with anything over 94mm bores. stroke doesnt look like its an issue at all, and the choice of cams, heads, exhaust, etc
would be wider that the t4 choice
i myself like the t4 for my intended use (building one at the moment), but i am interested in the possibilitys out there and this one looks like a
combination of a t1 and a t4
anyone have any first hand experience or seen one themselves?
or have any ideas of costs?
what would it take to fit some 103 or 105s?
food for thought, and discussion........
looks like it could be the basis for a souped up dream engine.....
can you run t1 aftermarket heads such as 044s or similar with larger than 94 p and c's?
lets start the fantasies guys, what do you reckon?

price seems to be about $1500 US
anyone in aus had any experience with these cases? |

If your going to all that expense why not get a scat killer case? I think the newer ones accept tinware and gen stands and they come in choice of dry
or wet sump and have removable timing cover. |

I've heard stuff about that on STF and apparently its really good. but it costs...
The scat case is good too, but I was under the impression that it was more for ultra high HP dragsters and was missing a lot of stuff that you would
need for street use

I thought I heard the newer ones could run the street gear but i could be wrong. A lot of people still like them for racing on the value for money
basis, a lot cheaper than autocraft or pauter. |

Are these the same aluminium cases Mick Motors are selling? I think they've got them for $1000AU or less

yeah, aftermarket t1 case with many improvements.
seems to have a few characteristics similar to t4 case, but with the benefit of finding more (and cheaper) aftermarket bits cos its a t1
(crank/cam/heads etc)
i have sent them an email regarding the biggest possible piston size, but i have been told on stf that you can go as big as 101.6, which with an 86mm
stroke (no clearancing required remember) would give you close to a 3L type one that (hopefully) would be tougher than a conventional t1 cased
engine
this is just a way off dream for me, but imagine my ragtop (see pic)
with a 2.8L injected engine out back making 200+ hp at the wheels
in the mean time (until i win tatts) i m gonna be happy with my t4 |
