NOS Berg 1776 kit *SOLD THANKS*


For sale NOS Berg 1776cc engine kit.
Purchased from Gene Berg in 1991.
Kit is complete and new.
Fully balanced and matched.
Comes with machined non ported 040 Berg heads with Manley SS valves.
Pistons are 90.5 mm graphite coated with total seal rings and hand honed cylinders.
Manley SS valves 42mm and 37.5mm.(new seats intalled)
Dual springs and spare set of guides.
Bolt together rocker shafts ,including shim kit.
Berg swivel adjusters.
Chromoly pushrods,new lifters and dual thrust cam bearings.
1700 lb PPlate and solid disc.
Lightened and balanced ,eight dowel flywheel.
New case,full flowed, inspected and machined by Bergs.
Comes with all factory studs and nuts etc.
Berg relief oil pump cover.
Hard anodized and pluged oil pump.
Lifetime teflon lined Stainless steel hoses.
Wide boy ,street sump.
Equalizer pully. Shot peened and mag fluxed conrods.
VW 8mm studs, Berg dip stick temp thermometer.
And 5 quarts of "running in" oil


All parts are Berg selected and matched ,balanced by Berg and ready to go together.
Includes all Berg instruction sheets.
Parts needed are;
1 5/8” merge exhaust
Pushrod tubes
Gasket kit
Tin ware
Oil cooler
Carbs and pump
Distributor and generator.
Oil filter and mount.

sorry to say mate, but for 5g's you can get a 2L turboed engine out of the states....

maybe a lil lowere on he price and i myself might have a nibble

2l turbo's engine?? for 5k aussie?

no offense but i dont think any turbo 2l vw motor for 5k would be anywhere near reliable.

Okay the price is a little steep and worth a haggle but remember what it is , BERG! For the Old Skool Cal -look freaks this is what it's all about.
If you can get me a decent 2lt turbo motor for 5k AU i'll have 5 of them please!

5k for Berg is sweet as. would be flat out making a 1776-1914 from scratch for 5k AU.....

that is good price for berg. and i dont know who ur buying 5k 2l turbo motors from, but theyre either crap or stolen! :blah:blah:blah dont listen to me its 5 15 am, i cant get to sleep and my eyes are bleeding.

Yeah if i remember correctly i spent over 4 grand that day at Bergs.
Id have to check the recipe.
But that was back in 1991 i think ,when i was over there and i bought this kit. So with freight and duty and inflation,possibly would cost double that now. I doubt however you would get the same quality.
But i will take a reasonable offer.
