If you dont mind i'd like to watch this too as Millie's fuel guage is the same and I think her speedo is out but not sure by how much...

Is the fuel guage a voltage problem???

personally if teh speedo is playing up, try a new cable, if its still out take it to a Gauge repair shop. Otto Instruments in brissy is good.

I was having problems with my guage in 74 beetle.would read what I thought was about right for about 15 minutes per tank. Got a new sender unit from Mick Motors, that didn't fix it so the local VW man replaced the guage ....now its just about good as new. All up probably 120 bux

jumping around usually indicates poor contacts... just check all the wiring to make sure the connections are good. inaccurate gauges will need further checking to see if it is the sender or the speedo itself... would suggest taking it to a speedo place to be checked out.

see.... air and water do mix ;)

Thank you. I will look for back wiring as the guage is fine while the engine is not running but as soon as I start the guage jumps around. Ta

My guage always reads empty when switched off. About the only time I trust it...
