RAT buggy UK

would anyone have an idea what a RAT buggy would be worth?

Not the one in the pic....just an example

Prices: These are the prices for a new kit...KIT ONLY!

Plain Finish: $3275.00 inc GST

Metalflake Finish: $3505.00 inc GST

So a complete and ready for rego for under $3k.....?

are you looking at one that's for sale?

if it has been registered before or has an engineers certificate it's worth quite alot, say $6k.

without an engineers certificate it's not worth much at all, probably $3k max, coz there's often alot of stuffing around to get buggies on the road if you haven't consulted an engineer before building it.

OK! no engineers certificate last registered in NSW 1987 (no paper work) seems to be complete...running type 3 motor and early beetle box maybe 1200 or 1300. Converted to 12v. Body and pan (early 60's) good, interior very average....

It is a RAT buggy and he's firm on the $3k asking price.

If it is a long wheelbase one its a bargain for $3k. Just a bit more than what i got mine for, but mine was in bits and incomplete. If it is lwb and passed rego before, you shouldnt have too many dramas getting it re engineered. Interesting to see somone else has done a similar twin headlight setup like me! :thumb

find out what the old number plates were, then the RTA can do an old rego search for you for $30.

depending on how late the buggy was registered the chassis number may or may not be of use, but if the engine number is the same as last ime it was registered you can get the RTA to do a previous rego search using that.

if you find the old rego and the old engineers certificate number with it then you are laughing. They can put you onto the engineer, or they may even have a copy of the old one and you are set.

otherwise getting the certificate easily will depend on how fussy an engineer is. :o
