wheel alignment

gonna get a proper one done as soon as i can get to the place to do it, however to get there means i have to drive the car there. after putting in the lowered front beam, new balljoints and a couple of other bits and pieces, the alignment is out of whack and it's scary to drive.

my dad wants to know if anyone can give him some instructions on how to do a rough wheel alignment on the front end just so we can get it to our local guy without killing ourselves in the process.

ps. it's a '68 bj/sa beetle.

cheers

Get a tape measure n measure the distance between the front edge of the front wheels n the rear edge of the front wheels

Adjust so theres only 2 or 3 mm difference and it will be good enough to drive.

Of couse drive carfully n not to fast

The mechanical shop in front of Vintage at Campsie has a 4 wheels aligner.... they do a good job

i'll be taking it up to peter in riverstone, the car's in blacktown and i'd rather not drive all the way to campsie without a proper alignment, but thanks heaps for the info :)

haven't touched the rear end at all and it had a four wheel alignment about 300kms ago. it's just that that 300kms ago was back in 2001.
