how to build your own type 4 upright kit.

some guy just emailed me this link, so I thought I would post it here.

I'm guessing it's an unfinished project, I haven't really paid much attention to it. I'm not interested in it.

Looks complicated, and needs 2 sets of all tinware (type 1 and type 4)!!!
Be fine if you already had all the tinware I guess.

Would you ever need all that cooling?

Joe Cali (Next gen) and Mike Sharp (Sharpbuilt) use a stock doghouse shroud. I've never read any mentions of anyone needing more cooling.

Like Andy says it double a lot of stuff.....

Interesting reads on the rest of the tech stuff though, like recommended engine sizes and costs to rebuild a high performance BIG engine. Works out much of a much ness for the long block. Which is the conclusion I came to with a 1911 T4 vs 1916 T1.

Cheers
Jeremy

I'll second that, having had a 1800 with a Sharpubilt kit on it in a 67 bug, and then in my 57 Baja. Some of the fibreglass fitup wasnt wonderful either, for the price.

Still, it is just about bulletproof though.

there is the DTM which looks great. its been thoroughly tested if you look at his dyno R&D. Looks like the same cost as a 911 shroud once u ship it here

Thanks for the comments on the sharp kit. I've got a copy of that how to mag, so I guess that makes it easier if I choose to go that way.

I'd love a DTM shroud, but the cost of shipping something as bulky as that scares me silly :duh
