Ok so I know what the fan does. Can I run it while driving to help cool engine?

what I have asked above. Will it help, or am I just moving air from the exhaust? Ta. Oh while I am at it. How much of a difference will air scoops make to the cooling?

Wont make any difference! It just draws the hot air from the heat exchangers. I have scoops and the effect is debatable, I havent noticed any great change in the temp. save yaself $100, and don't bother.

Someone told me that the scoops dropped the oil temperature 5deg on a 30deg day. Doesn't sound like much, but seems worth it to me, 5deg is the difference between cooking it and not cooking it.

What about an external oil cooler? they're expensive but that's the direction porsche went as the air cooled engines got more hypo.

BTW, you can buy non-genuine fibreglass scoops for $25 a pair, I got some at the nationals for my brother last year.
