Ask type3kid (Aaron). He may have a pair and could tell you a price.

Hey do you drive a greyish kombi by any chance.

If square back pop outs are anything like fasty popouts, the windows and latches themselves can be picked up second hand reasonably cheap. The problem is that the special popout window rubbers are no longer made and the chance of finding a good second hand set is virtually zero. A NOS set will cost a fortune.

If square back pop outs have an actual hinge, then I have no idea.

Fastback windows are completly different to Squareback. They do not hinge just fixed and the glass flex while the square hook into the body.

yeh, that's what got me thinking about getting pop-outs.
i took out all my old windows and saw the bits in the b pillar where the pop-outs would mount.... i just thought 'yeh, that'd look cool'....

kai:duh

p.s. if people have a set they want to sell, can they just put a price up on this thread. there's already one other person interested too.... some pics would be nice too.

Kai,
I`ve sold a couple of pairs on e-bay over the last year or so. They sold for around the $100-$120 mark, that was with the B-pillars too. I cut them out on both donor cars because they have a special metal insert spot welded into them. Yours will have the rectangular slots in the pillar but there is an extra part that needs to be fitted.
You have to drill out the spot welds from the donor pillars and then insert them into yours, you could probably get away with screwing these in place with self tappers (as long as they will clear the window framw and not affect the sealing ability of the rubber) or you could plug weld them.
I may be able to get you a pair although I think the latches are broken. They are on an early Square so I`ll check out the doors for you too.
Cheers mate.
Graham.

i've got some usable latches if you get the windows from 57 chook shed. they aren't the best (chrome wise) but they would sort you out till you get some nice ones.
