subaru in type 3 wagon

Hey all, im looking at purchasing a type 3 wagon minus an engine, I was wondering how easily a subaru turbo ( probably ea82t ) will slot in? And if anyone has seen or heard of this conversion done, all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They wont fit under the engine lid. So you would have to box it in somehow. Otherwise you would have an easier task than a beetle.

Dont think any water cooled conversion is very easy. I have no experience in them. But there is a guy in our club who has put a Subi Forrester GT turbo in his Notchy.

Have a look at the members rides on http://www.noh20.org

and another

hope this help ya out.

well to make it sound really easy...
you just need to cut out room for the turbo and intercooler as you can see in the above link, get an engine/gearbox adapter plate, mount a radiator up front and run some pipes underneath, make a rear engine mount and wire up the ECU.

Easier said than done though.
