Ummm, maybe in a museum ? They werent produced for very long, and wouldnt be very many in OZ, due to the fact that they were superseded by the 12A in the first RX7 (1978) which is when the rotary revolution happened.

Good luck.

QUT (where I went to Uni) has one in pieces mounted on a wall in the mechanical building labs. That's the only one I have seen in real life.

First 10A in Australia

The Mazda R100 was released in June 1969 and was one of the first Mazda vehicles equipped with the rotary engine. It was available as a coupe only, and was based on the 1200 coupe which had been on sale for over a year

He's being real cagey about what he's doing with it. Spose I'll have to wait and see. He's really set on a 10a though.

dunno, he won't say, he's real cagey. personally, I think he's a bit of a nutter. you know what I mean, everyone has a mate like it, too many 'broolliunt' schemes. :o

anyway, a 10a is what he really wants.

The 10a is a top little motor revs to 10000prm easily.
Only down side is finding parts , but if hes's serious give me a u2u and i know a mate who has a couple , its whether he'll sell them is the thing. If not I've still got a twin dizzy 12a mild port sitting in the shed, needs a water pump though.

a 10A can be turbocharged and put into a bug, legaly, pop, there goes the secret buble.

You would want to rebuild the whole thing with new seals from todays spare parts manufacturers, Original mazda seals were only getting about 20 000 klms from new, thats why they got such a bad name, but todays seal materials are great, after all its been nearly 40 years since mazda released its first rotary engine, a lot has been devoped since then.
And NSU made the ro80 even before that.

I did toy with the idea of turbochargeing a 10A for Herbie, as it has a small enough displacement to be legal, yet still create some good horsepower if you know what you're doing.
I decided it was going to be too expensive to worry about, but it is an option I guess.

well the last rumour I heard is the new rules are coming june/july. And there was talk that the engine multipliers would change, making a 12A turbo or possibly even a 13B turbo legal.

We'll wait and see I guess
