DESPERATELY NEED HELP

About 15 months ago we bought a 69 beetle for our daughter to learn to drive in (she was 16 at the time). We decided to strip it down and have it resprayed, new rubbers etc. To try and cut long story short, painter stuffed us up. Changed painters. 2nd painter took forever. My husband left and moved to Brisbane. Finally got car back from painters. Eventually got money together for rubbers etc. Now I have nobody to help us put her back together. Are there any veedubbers in southern Tas who would like to give us a hand. I cant pay for their time but could pay travelling. Windows have to go back in, lights back on etc. I know its a big ask but daughter is 17 now and having lessons and still doesnt have her car to drive. And Betty Beetle is getting lonely. Can anybody out there help us? My email address is beaton@iprimus.com.au

Maybe we could organise a working bee? I'm hanging for an excuse to get back down to Tassie so maybe we could organise a weekend or something? Just a thought?

I guess veedubbers really are a special group. She was running when we stripper her down. Has small oil leak but what vw doesnt. I have to get running boards made, thought maybe checkerplate but ex threw out originals so I will have to get someone in to measure up. Minor re-wiring has to be done where all the lights were removed. Have brought new door inside panels and quarter panels as well as all new rubbers for windows and doors. Have installed new seats and are hoping to put in new seatbelts. Bumpers and some lights have been put back on. I dont think finishing her off is a big job if you know what you are doing. I DONT! If anyone can help I can supply food and BEER (for after, not during).

Wrong side of the country for me or I'd be there with my tools...
Busy bee sounds like a good plan with a weekend stay over....
best of luck getting it sorted..

I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
