Help needed in SYDNEY

Hi,

I am looking to purchase a Kombi in Sydney off ebay. (near Manly)

But as I live in Brissy, I need someone to do this for me. Is there anyone out there who is willing to check it out for me and let me know if it is okay.

I'd rather not purchase it sight unseen.

If it is okay, and I win the bid, I can then fly down to pick up and drive back....so I need the person to check it is driveable.

Also, if it is nice, and really good value for money, please don't buy it on me....pls pls pls pls pls pls pls.

Cheers
Donna

Can give contact details if anyone answers with a yes....have also posted this same statement in buying thread

Donna,

at $500 for 77 running/regoed kombi camper is a bargain.

I would bid, even without seeing it.

You cant go wrong at $500.

That's what I thought. But then I thought it might not even exists (as this guys anyway...he and girlfriend seem alright, but u never know)

So my only concern is to make sure it actually exists, and isn't a scam....

I figure if someone can confirm for me it exists, it's there, he or hsi partner own it, and they see rego and his license..then it's all good, and away I bid. oh, and what I need to get it up to brisbane...(driveable (jump in and take it home) Has no key, has key not motor (get a trailer)...etc etc etc)

Cheers
D4

I am willing to pay petrol for person going if u want, just give me ur bank details and how much u want...pls pls pl s guys...anyone...please...just see it exists and how to get it home.

I know.

The guy selling said it was near the hinges.

He thought it would come off with just some wire brushing, or angle grinder.

This is another reason I wanted someone to go have a look for me.

Cheers
Donna

Comprehensive.

The poptop was surrounded by a lot of silastic to keep the water out or the rust in.
No apparent serious structural rust that I could see but plenty of it all around the shell.

Mechanically it seemed OK although I didnt drive it.

The car was bought by a couple of pommy backpackers to travel around in and now has to be sold early so it will go cheap.

I went with sax to look at this.

The drivers quarter panel window had been smashed since listing and is currently filled with a padded post bag. They had also tried to smash the window on the sliding door and it is cracked and has a small hole in it, the only thing holding it together is the window tinting. There is rust bubbling under the paint and in some cases through the paint under every window. The roof sills are totally rusted through in places and there is rust virtually the whole way round on the roof above the roof sills. There is rust at the bottom of the nose panel. Rego expires 02/03/05.

On the plus side the engine sounds OK, started immediately and ran smooth. Didn't notice any smoke from the exhaust when starting or running.

Unless you need an engine and gearbox for something or are prepared to do extensive rust repairs I would give this one a miss.

Oh, and try the Santova cafe in Manly. The prosciutto and cheese omlette is quite tasty.

...check out the 2nd highest bidders [bobcanbuild ( 0 )] location, the UK pushing up the bids for is pommy mate. See how the seller cancelled his bid for $2000, so he can find out what the highest bidder has bid and push-it up just under that bid, that is the oldest trick in the book. Time to have some fun!!!

PS: Donna keeping searching, you'll find a good one.
