a dumb Q... cleaning alloys +
i just picked up a set of cookie cutters and want to clean then before storing them till the car is ready for them.
what is the best stuff to clean them with that won't damage the factory coating/paint on the rims?
the wheels have a few spots of light corrosion under the factory coating... they will be stored for at least a year (quite poss several at the rate
i'm going).... should i strip off the coating, get rid of the corrosion, then recoat before storing? if so what methods do you recomend? (i would
like to keep the factory black centres if possible)
also how do i get the balancing weights off without damaging the rims? they are black plastic looking things that appear to be double sided taped
on...
it isn't the best photo but you can see the weights and sort of see the worst of the corrosion in the pics on the inside of the right hand rim.
thanks.
henry.

they look pretty good. try and lever those pesky ballance weights off between the weight and adhesive, so as not to hit the rims, if you can find a
hard plastic blade use that insted of metal(less chance of a scratch if you slip). id just use autosol or mothers metal polish to brighten up the edge
of the rims
