Mostly the yanks just want to buy the parts, slap it together and expect it to perform better than a late model import turbo engine. It comes from having big powerful v8s around for decades.

The Europeans are used to realistic outcomes. 4 Cylinders are all they can afford.

Besides, you can't expect an engine to perform miracles outsides it original design mandate. VW designed boxers to rev low, and give usable torque and have mild but long lives. When you want them to rev like hondas and sustain 20+ pnds of boost you're bound to be dissappointed.

Besides, the yank aftermarket are still discovering Electronic engine management. Tuning wise they are still in dark ages. EFI is the key to long life with high boost forced induction. Otherwise Subaru and Porsche would still be using carbies.

MMMMMMMM efi super charged 2.5 type 4 now were talking motors i was going to put a super on my kombi engine for the sake of doing it as there is a good spot on a kombi engine right were the air con bolts up but i was going to do a draw through but one day when i can afford it efi super charged baja somthing big bore for sure ohhhhh grunt.
As for buying supers there is alot of brands but the one i would use is the toyota mr2 one its not huge but will pump around 6 psi which will make enough of a difference for me but if you want big then you can get a soarar one there a little bigger and geared right i have heard of 10psi no worries.

You only need two tools
Wd40 if it don't move and it should
Duct tape if it move's and it shouldn't
